About Set on You
I’m all about body positivity and self-acceptance so I was quite excited to receive an ARC of debut romance, Set on You.
Crystal is a plus-size Chinese American social influencer/personal trainer. She faces pushback and discrimination. And she also has to deal with her parents who don’t think she has a “real” job as an influencer.
At the gym, the new guy takes her machine and ruins her daily video thus kicking off a bit of a feud. They keep clashing until they share a scorching kiss – that she can’t stop thinking about. Which makes it even more fun when Scott turns out to be the grandson of the man Crystal’s feisty Grandma Flo is marrying.
My thoughts about Set on You
This is a spicy, swoony enemies to lovers delight!
This book gives you:
So much witty banter and laughs
Sexy firefighters!!!
Enemies to lovers
Close proximity
Comfort care
Chinese immigrant experience
Asian woman experience
Great friends
Adorable golden doodle
Swoony kisses
Steamy bathtub scene
Hysterical rescue from a tree scene
Lots of attraction and heat
Crystal navigates figuring out how to deal with trolls online and deciding how much of her personal life to share with her followers. Something I think is incredibly relatable to anyone who has a social media presence.
There’s a lot of talk about fit and healthy versus weight and what healthy looks like.
As a fat girl I appreciated the real talk about the perceptions of fat women and the assumptions people make about us and who we date and our health.
In closing
I loved this book and can’t wait to see what Amy Lea writes next!
