About Even Though I Knew the End
An exiled augur who sold her soul to save her brother’s life is offered one last job before serving an eternity in hell. When she turns it down, her client sweetens the pot by offering up the one payment she can’t resist―the chance to have a future where she grows old with the woman she loves.
My thoughts about Even Though I Knew the End
This slender volume packs a ginormous punch right to the heart. It’s a historical mystery with an intense noir vibe with all of the family feels and a queer love story. This sounds like a lot for a novella but CL Polk is an amazing storyteller who weaves those strands together into a story you can’t stop reading.
- Sapphic love story
- Queer culture
- Magic
- Ritual sacrifice
- Dapper ladies in suits
- Dark noir vibes
- Femme fatale
