About A Good Day for Chardonnay
A Good Day for Chardonnay by Darynda Jones is the second book in her Sunshine Vicram series. Darynda Jones is a genius at balancing laugh so hard it hurts humor with characters that you instantly fall in love with and cry over their personal tragedies with them.
This book had absolutely absurd and delightful moments like Sunshine’s deputy being absolutely terrorized by a raccoon – to the point where he called everyone on the force to be his backup.
And moments that had me aching, even crying with heartbreak. No spoilers but OMG you’ll know when you get there.
My thoughts about A Good Day for Chardonnay
If you loved the first book, A Bad Day for Sunshine, you’re going to love this one even harder. Read my review of A Bad Day for Sunshine.
- More witty banter
- More sexy Levi moments
- More Auri being big-hearted and fearless
- More investigating what really happened when Sunny was abducted
My only complaint is that it was over too soon! Darynda Jones’ writing just grabs you and pulls you under and you don’t surface until you read the last page.
If you’re a quirky small-town sheriff mystery lover or a slow-smoldering romance fan or maybe stories about family, both biological and found, who enjoys all of the feels – the funnies and the gut punches, this is for you. Actually? I defy anyone to read this and not fall in love with these characters.
In conclusion
In A Good Day for Chardonnay, Darynda Jones is a genius at balancing humor with characters that you love and heartbreaking moments.
