About How the Murder Crumbles

HOW THE MURDER CRUMBLES is a delicious cozy mystery set in a bakery in a small town. Mallory recently inherited her aunt’s bakery. She’s hit a rough patch with her two opposites don’t attract employees always bickering. Then she catches her boyfriend cheating. But things go from tough to terrible when local queen bee and food blogger, Beatrice, accuses Mallory of using a stolen cookie recipe. The two have a very public argument in the bakery in front of several people. Which makes Mallory a prime suspect when Beatrice is murdered. Mal needs to clear her name and save the bakery asap.

My thoughts about How the Murder Crumbles

Mallory’s a relatable MC – putting everything into her passion and dream – owning The Cookie Shop. After her breakup, she’s so determined to hang onto her bakery dream and not let anything take it away. I admired her determination to keep investigating despite continuous deadends and obstacles.

To keep things interesting, you also get drama with Mallory’s cousin. The setting is pure cozy mystery – a quaint small town with lots of quirky characters – perfect for exploring more in future books.

In closing

How the Murder Crumbles, a tasty quick read, is the first book in a new mystery series with a cozy, small-town feel.
