About A Half-Baked Murder
The first book in a new cozy mystery series, A Half-Baked Mystery, features a different type of bakery. Chloe, a trained pastry chef, has moved back home to Azalea Bay, CA after a broken engagement and a scathingly bad review of her food. After experimenting with cannabis treats for her ill grandmother, Chloe and her Aunt Dawn decide to open a bakery featuring the legal treats.
But then the town jerk is murdered and Aunt Dawn is the main suspect. Now it’s up to Chloe to clear Aunt Dawn.
My thoughts about A Half-Baked Murder
I loved the relationships between Chloe, her Grandma Rose, and Aunt Dawn. They so obviously love each other and feel fiercely protective of each other.
This gives you all of the fun cozy tropes:
Small town/hometown
Everyone knows everything about everyone else
Small biz
Adorable animal sidekick
Delicious descriptions of baked goods
Quirky family
Light romance
Dancing dog competitions!
In closing
A Half-Baked Murder is a fast-paced and fun delicious treat of a light-hearted read.
