About Mixed Signals
In this Lovelight book, Mixed Signals by BK Borison, we focus on the third partner, Layla. Who is as bad at picking men to date as she is amazing at baking. When another dreadful date leaves her stranded at a bar, Caleb, one of her bake shop regulars gives her a ride home. Caleb who she’d always seen as kind, helpful, and sweet. But somehow, now he’s HOT. Caleb’s had his own dating troubles – giving his heart too soon, being told he’s too much.
Layla and Caleb agree to an arrangement. They’ll date for a month, then offer each other suggestions and tips for how to do better at the whole dating thing. Except what’s supposed to be fun and helpful turns into something else when they both catch feelings.
My thoughts about Mixed Signals
I adore the Lovelight books! They’re cozy, sexy, small-town Hallmarkesque, and full of characters who care about each other. Even as they meddle, gossip, and get overly involved in each other’s lives. The author delves into her characters’ hurts and insecurities in a way that feels authentic and believable. Which makes me love Layla and Caleb even more.
And the descriptions! Whether it’s a bouquet of flowers or strawberry shortcake, this book is full of lush imagery.
Mixed Signals is a fast read that you won’t want to put down. Inglewild, full of quirky yet fabulous people, is small-town perfection. There’s plenty of humor to balance the heartbreaking moments- the phone tree sounds hysterical. It’s a slow-burn romance but once they fall, yowza it’s spicy goodness.
