I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

If I could live in a book world, it would absolutely be Lana Harper’s Thistle Grove. It sounds like the perfect small town – full of magic and diversity.

About In Charm’s Way

IN CHARM’S WAY, Thistle Grove Witches book 4 focuses on Delilah Harlow and the aftermath of the oblivion spell that Nina cast on her in Book 3. Angry and scared that her once razor sharp mind and perfect memory regularly fail her, Delilah takes the frightening step of performing blood magic. She gets her memory restored but discovers that she’s now a beacon for dark and frightening things, interested in consuming her.

Cat, a half Sith hunter visiting Thistle Grove,  saves Delilah from a sucubus. The usually fiercely independent Delilah finds herself drawn to Cat, willing to accept her help. But what’s Cat’s end game?

My thoughts about In Charm’s Way

I love that her world is so very diverse – Thistle Grove has inhabitants of all colors, genders, and sexuality. It feels very organic instead of like she has a list of things to include and is checking diversity boxes.

I found Delilah, her prickliness and determination to regain her independence very relatable. I enjoyed watching as she acknowledged and tried to deal with her anger and trust issues.

I enjoyed discovering more about the world around Thistle Grove – that other places have thriving yet very different supernatural communities. I’m hoping upcoming books give us more information about Thistle Grove and its goddess and the larger supernatural world.

In closing

Lana Harper’s created a gorgeous and magical world that I want to live in. Her descriptions of Thistle Grove, its people, and even the food are lush and enticing.
