About Murder Is a Piece of Cake

Social media influencer, now bakery owner, Maddy is still learning baking basics in this second installment of the Baker Street Mystery series. With a new bakery opening across the street, Maddy’s worried about Baby Cakes’ future. Then things go from bad to worse when the new bakery’s arrogant, millionaire owner turns up dead. With a Baby Cakes’ knife in his back. It’s up to Maddy and her crew to find the real killer when a Baby Cakes’ employee is accused of the crime.

Murder Is a Piece of Cake expands on the stage set in the first book, Two Parts Sugar, One Part Murder. We meet more of New Bison’s quirky townspeople. We learn more about Maddy’s group of friends/sleuth accomplices, the Baker Street Irregulars.

My thoughts about Murder Is a Piece of Cake

This is a contemporary cozy with an engaging cast of diverse characters and an adorable, drooling doggo. Plus baking and recipes, humor, and some light romance. The mysteries are intriguing and well-plotted. The author has set up a larger mystery spanning multiple books with hints of a Big Bad in the midst of Maddy’s crew. Murder Is a Piece of Cake is a delicious, fast moving book that you’ll want to devour in one sitting.

In closing

This series is perfect for fans of Olivia Matthews and Mia P. Manansala.
